UConn traveled up to Springfield, MA last Saturday to take on AIC. The Yellow Jackets, a perennial ECRC powerhouse, came into the match with a 3-0 record featuring wins over NEC, Fairfield, and Albany. UConn came in at 1-2, with a win against Albany, and losses to BC and NEC. UConn has showed significant improvements from past seasons, and that trend continued through this match.
The Huskies got out to a quick 5-0 lead over AIC, but at the half the score was AIC 12 – 5 UConn. The second half was not as kind to the Huskies who would eventually fall 41-19. While the final score was not the result UConn went into the game looking for, the Huskies made it clear they are a tough team that is on the rise and can go out there and play with anyone.
UConn will take on UMass this Saturday (10/8/16) at Depot Campus Field in Storrs.
